Welcome Phase 2 Trainees!

We did it again! We completed our latest ONLINE Brainspotting Phase 2 training. We had trainees from the US, Canada, Switzerland and the UK. Part of the emotional energy during the 3-day event was hijacked by the environmental crisis looming large in our small group, with extremely early snow happening at my house Saturday morning, followed by an emergency evacuation for our Colorado attendee later that day, we were all taking time to be with each other in a more thoughtful way.

So although I am only announcing 12 trainees, a 13th is 2/3 of the way there to being officially completed, and we will work to make that happen when they are safe and ready and able to focus again.

New England’s June 2020 Phase 1 and Phase 2 to be held ONLINE

I have heard from KUA that the pandemic physical restrictions guidelines make it impossible for us to hold the trainings scheduled for June in-person. So they will both now be held ONLINE.

The good news is that we may have more attendees this way. Also, I have been training in how to run these online and I am now VERY confident that we will have a great experience. My grateful thanks for those who have helped me learn!

Please forward the new information to colleagues whom you feel may be interested in learning Brainspotting or expanding their Brainspotting skills to assist clients through the non-verbal and felt-sense essence of the current pandemic. We will do a deep dive into Limbic Countertransference as well as global existential crisis, trauma shock, and how to work with clients and ourselves regarding these issues.

I am available for supervision for all attendees post-training and will be scheduling more group supervisions to support skills growth and community building.

Brainspotting Trainings Update: 10/15/2020

Things keep changing and this is my latest update regarding Brainspotting Trainings during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We have been directed to hold ALL trainings online during this physical distancing time of pandemic.

The June online trainings went swimmingly and I continue to be amazed to see how well it works both for the trainer and the trainees. And with the online format, I am so excited to meet practitioners from across the country and abroad. Likewise, assistants are stepping forward to help new trainees achieve really high-quality experiences. Our network is growing stronger. There are many blessings in this uncertain time.

The Keene, NH/Monadnock Family Services training planned for October 16-18, 2020 will be ONLINE. This will be a Phase 2 training, replacing the cancelled April one. I have posted a January 2021 Phase 1 and a February 2021 Phase 2, both ONLINE as well.

The overall desire it to have practitioners trained to support clients – and each other – through this pandemic, and then we as trained practitioners can support the impact of COVID-19 aftermath, being as the longer it lasts, the more support the population will need. We have added material in the trainings to address Limbic Countertransference, trauma shock, racial justice focus, and the environmental and global existential crisis we are in, and ways to work with it for our clients as well as for ourselves.

Please forward this information to anyone you may know who is interested in learning Brainspotting in Phase 1 or in expanding their Brainspotting skills with Phase 2.

Brainspotting Trainings Update

As a Brainspotting Trainer it is my responsibility to provide the best training experience for you, therefore please read the following carefully.

The recent global response to the COVID-19 pandemic may seem severe in one light, but smart and careful in another.

The June trainings I have scheduled in Northern New England are still a ways out. The April 24-26 Phase 2 in Keene is still scheduled to run ONLINE at this date.

If we do need to postpone, or if you choose to not attend an online training right now, your registration fee can either be completely refunded, all service charges will be waived, or you can choose to use your registration fee for a future training with me. If you choose to attend a different training with a different trainer, I will refund your registration fee to you.

I sincerely hope that we are able to continue our trainings online and in-person as soon as possible because in light of this pandemic, even more of our population will need support in healing. I believe that Brainspotting is a remarkably effective and creative tool to give clients the speediest route to recovery and balance that I know.

Announcing Spring 2020 Trainings in New Hampshire

I am pleased to announce three upcoming trainings that I will be holding this Spring, 2020. I am grateful to the generous and enthusiastic hosting we are privileged to!

Phase 2 (pdf flier) is again being hosted by Monadnock Family Services on April 24-26, 2020.

Kimball Union Academy is also generously hosting us again on back-to-back weekends featuring Phase 1 (pdf flier) on June 5-7, 2020, and the following weekend Phase 2 (pdf flier) on June 12-14, 2020.

Brainspotting Phase 2 Training! April 5, 6, 7, 2019.

Yes! We are announcing the first ever Brainspotting Phase 2 Training in New Hampshire. We will be hosting it in Hanover again, and this time we are welcoming the amazing and lovely Christine Ranck to the Upper Valley.

Phase 2 is also a 3-day training, being held April 5, 6 and 7, 2019. The fees have gone up a bit in 2019, so early bird is $745, regular registration is $795 and late registration is $845. And CEs are still available from R. Cassidy for an additional fee of $30, paid directly to them.

Phase 2 expands and deepens the base of Brainspotting that was introduced in Phase 1. This Brainspotting Phase 2 training will begin with an extensive review of Outside and Inside Window Brainspotting and Gazespotting, with an emphasis on how to clinically interact with clients.  Trainees will be introduced to several important applications. This includes One-Eye Brainspotting including the use of One-Eye goggles. Also taught is 3-Dimensional Brainspotting using the “Z-Axis” of Brainspotting close and far, this includes Convergence Therapy which expands the Z-Axis to activate the vagus nerve through the ocular cardiac reflex. Additional technical refinements will be presented including “Rolling Brainspotting,” with slow eye tracking, stopping briefly on each Brainspot. Advanced techniques will also include combined Inside-Outside Brainspotting where both reflexive responses and client sense of highest activation are used together to find Brainspots. Day 3 will be devoted to the second level of the Advanced Resource Model. This will entail combining the resource aspects of One-Eye and Z-Axis Brainspotting. This addresses working with clients with Very Complex PTSD and those outside of the Brainspotting Window of Tolerance.
